Mission Statement

Fountainhead College of Technology was established as the Tennessee Radio Service School in 1947 at 422 Gay Street in Knoxville, Tennessee. The following year, the name was changed to Tennessee Institute of Electronics. Initially, the primary function was to prepare graduates for entry-level employment as electronic technicians in radio and television communications. The College became accredited in 1967 and continues to maintain its accreditation today by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). Continued growth and curriculum expansion afforded the College to once again outgrow its name. In May of 2003, the College became Fountainhead College of Technology.

Fountainhead College is committed to using its resources to make a significant contribution to secure the nation's critical infrastructure. In 1999 the college began offering an Associate's Degree in Information Technology with curriculum developed to include information security training. In 2002 the college began development of a Baccalaureate degree in Network Security and Forensics; and in 2003 Fountainhead College of Technology became the first college in the southeast to offer a computer security-focused baccalaureate degree.

Today, Fountainhead College stands as the leader in technology-related training programs in East Tennessee.
